In April 1988, brothers Taha and Najib Miqati founded the Azm and Saade Association, inspired by their parents Hajj Azmi Taha Mikati and Hajje Souad Abdulla Ghandour. The association is rooted in philanthropic and humanitarian principles; it supports and strengthens communities through interventions that reinforce capacities and boosts the fundamental role of individuals in development.
AWS focuses on two primary development programs and two services that address the core challenges currently being confronted by some of the most marginalized communities. The two main programs of the organization are Cultural Diversity and Socio-economic Development accompanied by two primary services, primary healthcare and education support. The organization is based in Tripoli, and all of its program will stem from its presence and experience in the Northern region of the country.
